bonfire

This a blog dedicated to advertising. My love for it, for great ideas, and thoughts. Why Bonfire? Because I believe creating great ideas is like fueling a bonfire: the more ideas, work and passion you throw into it, the larger it will grow. This is a blog where ideas come to grow and ignite conversation.

Just in time for some pre-superbowl ad maddness (and for alot less than $3mil a spot), Cadbury has come out with another great hit. Simple, entertaining and effective; this spot shows the eyebrows of two kids (which appear to be brother and sister getting ready for a family portrait) dancing around to a techno beat derived from the boys wristwatch-I'm wondering if Cadbury employed BOSE to insert the sound system in that watch because it's rockin (this would make for a great microsite, if you could customize tunes).

The spot then ends with the little girl tweaking out a balloon to add some sizzle and make her case for a career in beat making. Early impressions are that this spot will be extremely popular and carry major traffic going into superbowl weekend. Maybe we'll see it continued on the superbowl, in either case, other adverts have their work cut out of they wish to steal the spotlight from this spot. Though I still believe the gorilla drummin' to some vintage Phil Collins was an absolute classic and all-time personal favorite; this is another great spot that focuses on the positive side of advertising, especially in a media world of "we're better than you," this is quite refreshing.
I'll have my glass half full please. Let me know what you think.
